How to Track Baby Sleep and Build a Routine

Using the sleep tracker to log naps and night sleep, understand wake windows, and spot your baby's natural patterns.

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Tap Start Sleep on the Home screen to begin a live sleep timer - the button shows the duration as it runs. Tap again when your baby wakes to end and save the session automatically.

2

Use the Sleep tab to view the 24-hour timeline bar, which colour-codes all sleep blocks across the day so you can instantly see how sleep is distributed.

3

Log past sleeps manually in the Sleep tab using the + button: set start and end times, choose the location (cot, pram, arms, or bed), and rate quality. This lets you catch sessions you forgot to log in real time.

4

Look for your baby's 'wake windows' - the comfortable time awake between sleeps. For newborns this is 45-60 minutes; it extends to around 90 minutes at 3 months and 2-3 hours by 6 months. Staying within the wake window prevents overtiredness.
