How to Prepare for and Track Baby Vaccinations

What to expect at each vaccine appointment, how to use the vaccine tracker, and what side effects are normal.

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Open the Stats tab and scroll to Recommended Vaccines to see every scheduled vaccine with its due date, calculated automatically from your baby's date of birth. Green tick means done, orange means due soon, red means overdue.

2

Before the appointment: dress your baby in clothing with easy arm access. You can breastfeed or offer a bottle during the injection - this has a proven pain-reducing effect and is encouraged by most health providers.

3

After the jab, tap the vaccine in the tracker and mark it as given. Add any side effects in the notes (mild fever, fussiness, and redness or swelling at the injection site are all normal for 24-48 hours).

4

Log any medicines given (such as infant paracetamol for fever) in the Health Log with the time and dose. This record is useful if a second dose is needed or if you speak to a nurse about symptoms.
